Back to Back Wins for Berlier
By Danny Boyd.
August 7, 2008
The American Pro Series was in Kansas tonight, with Harry O'Neill leading the field to the start.
Ty Pack and Cody had some mechanical issues and were not able to make the race. Ty was able to qualify but the car just wouldn't cooperate.
The race was filled with green stops, which was bad news for Murray. Jeremy was having car issues also and not able to take the green. Murray was however able to get out but was 2 laps down.
Harry lead most of the first few laps, but a bad battery sent him to the pits. Harry went from leading to 2 laps down. That would put Solomon in the lead, but shortly after Brian was able to take the lead.
Solomon would once again take the lead after a round of green stops. More troubles for Murray when a speeding penalty put him another lap down.
Brian would retake the lead, just prior to the comp yellow on lap 43.
The comp yellow would get Murray the free pass and within 2 laps. Things were starting to look up for Murray but a tap from Musclow would send Murray spinning into the wall. Murray was able to keep going but ended up losing 4 laps for repairs.
The night ended early for O'Neill when the ignition failed, Harry was not able to get it fixed.
Brian's crew were able to make the stop of the night and get Brian a big lead.
Murray's car finally gave up, and he was sent back to the garage.
Solomon was hoping to make a late race charge, but poor tire wear kept him to 2nd.
Brian would go on to win, with Solomon in 2nd, Dana 3rd, Tina 4th, Musclow 5th, Murray 6th and O'Neill 7th.
